We are Paul & Colleen Kuzma, owners of this marvelous space that we call our Happy Place! We landed on this spot in 2019, purchasing it from the previous family who had resided here for almost 35 years!
A unique feature of our 4.7 acres is a 5 car garage that we affectionately call the “Grand Ole Garage”, based on Paul’s love for bluegrass music. You might hear the sounds of bluegrass coming from the garage when we are out and about the grounds doing what we do. Just let us know if it’s too loud for you.
Colleen’s Dad, Tim, moved in with us in 2021 after losing Mom, Deb, his wife of 62+ years. They were high school sweethearts, both born and raised in Southern California. They spent Mom’s last 42 years in Northern California, where they were enjoying retirement.
The garage really suits Dad, who retired from a career operating heavy equipment. If you know anything about that line of work, it means he can fix and build about anything, and still regularly does! He’s a fantastic character to meet if you get the chance, though he usually spends his August-October with kids and grands back west.
Paul is a Counselor to Pastors and Colleen is a Nurse. We moved here in 2015 for Paul’s work. After 30 years of pastoring a Foursquare Church in Simi Valley, CA, he was asked to become the Director of the denomination’s retreat center for pastors and their families, that is located here in Christiansburg. We now get to live in what we call the “sweet spot of the US”!
Our two sons are both Sheriff Deputies, one in Los Angeles County (CA), the other in Hamilton County (IN). They are both married, and we absolutely love our 5 grandkids between them (with a 6th on the way). Paul also serves as a Chaplain with our local Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. You may see some law enforcement officers who visit our Happy Place from time to time.
You may also hear the rumble of cars being worked on or motorcycles being ridden, as Paul and Dad are avid motorcyclists!
